Hendrik married Anna Elizabeth Barnard. Anna (daughter of Jacobus Gerhardus Barnard and Jacoba Johanna) was born on 28 May 1926; died on 19 Jan 1996 in Vanderbijlpark. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Witnesses at his baptism were Charl Jacob du Plessis and Geertruida Catharina Vorster. Geertruida Catharina Vorster born 20 Oct 1869 looks like if it is the daughter of Hendrik Rudolph Vorster married to Anna Margaretha van der Walt. Anna Sophia stayed with him in Grahams town where she died in a mental unit. (recorded from letter of Joye Aucamp nee Vorster).

Notes:

His birth certificate indicates: son of Johannes Christiaan Vorster and Margaretha Johanna du Plessis, Witnesses on the birth certificate is: Isaak David du plessis, Hester Venter, J.P. or I.D. Vorster and Gerbreg Elizabeth Potgieter. Note the spelling of Isaak. Information is not from the original register but from a re-written register. He was the oldest of thirteen children. Voorgenoemd Hantum is mentioned. It indicates possibly a place name in the Colesberg district. In Calvina presently is a congregation called Calvina-Hantam. The registers of Calvina, Clanwilliam, Swartland and Tulbagh indicates nothing of Izak David.

Initial research showed an Izak David Vorster, born 10 September 1846, the same birth date as the son of Johannes Christiaan Vorster, whom was married to a Aletta Sophia Venter. Later research showed also an Izak David Vorster married to an Anna Sophia Johanna du Plessis. It was also indicated on this marraige certificate on 24 September 1877, that this Izak David Vorster was a widow at the age of 31 years. Going back 31 years brings us up to 1846, the birth date of Izak David Vorster. Using this information it was concluded that Izak David Vorster's first wife was Aletta Sophia Venter.

Very little information is accumilated about Izak David to date. He never had a will and no estate was left behind. This is possible also the reason why no death certificate can be obtained. Though his death date can be calculated as after 1895 as his last son, Jan Adriaan Vorster was born on 9 February 1892 and is about three years old according to a photo of Izak David Vorster with Anna Sophia du Plessis and Jan Adriaan Vorster. He possibly died during the Anglo boer war and was burried in Colesberg, Cape Province.
Stockfarmer of Hartebeesfontein, Colesberg. In 1903 he was living in Parys, OFS. His birth certificate indicates:son of Johannes Christiaan Vorster and Margaretha Johanna du Plessis. Witnesses were: Isaak David du plessis, Hester Venter, J.P. or I.D. Vorster and Gerbreg Elizabeth Potgieter. Note the spelling of Isaak.

He possibly died during the Anglo Boer War.

Izak married Anna Sophia Johanna du Plessis on 24 Sep 1877. Anna (daughter of Charl Jacob du Plessis and Martha Maria Jooste) was born on 3 Apr 1860 in Colesberg; died about 1936 in Grahamstown. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Notes:

Her younger sister was baptised in Philipstown. The marriage records is as follows: Izaak David Vorster (31 years old), widower, farmer of Hartebeesfontein, Colesberg married on 24 September to Anna Johanna Sophia du Plessis (17 years old). She was the second wife of Izak David Vorster.
