  1. 8.  Jean Prieur du Plessis was born in 1638 in Poitiers in Poitou, France.

    Notes:

    Jean Prieur du PLESSIS was a French Hugenote and en chirurgh. He arrived in 1688 with his wife Madeleine MENANTEAU also from Poitiers on the Oosterlandt in SA with one child born on the cruise to SA. He returned in 1694 to Europe on the ship Sir Jansland, due that he could not be successful as a farmer. His second wife was Maria BUISSET from Sedan, whom he married in January 1700 in the Domkerk, Amsterdam, and with whom he returned to the Cape. She was a midwife. He settled in the Cape and had two children from his first wife and five from his second. The were:
