• Notes

  Barend BUYS of Brunswyk, Germany arrived at the Cape on 9 January 1715, on the ship Risdam as an soldier. He worked as a stable worker for the Kompanie. On 26 November 1718 he sighned a contract with Jacobus van den Heijden for him to serve as a sevant. On 3 February 1722 he obtained a loan farm named Witteklip north of Saldanha bay. He bought the farm Blomkool on 8 Octtober 1722 from Andries Krugel. He sold this farm on 2 July 1725 to Jacob Coetzer.
