  [S543] Nicola Souchon. From my personal family tree Aletta Catharina with the Person ID I457 and Family ID F390, who is married to John Charles Mauch (Person ID I17542 and Family ID F390), was my great grandmother. Her date of birth on this record is correct 18/06/1866. I know that she came from the Cradock district family bibles that were passed down from her father to her and he was definitely Jacobus Adriaan Vorster. her mother was Anna Cecilia Robbertze (person ID 1453) who was a child when her father (Jan Hendrick Robbertze) was killed at the Battle of Blood River and her uncle Schalk had to trek from Cradock to Natal to fetch Anna Cecilia and her mother (Elizabeth Helenna). This is a ‘story’ that was told to me by my father who did a lot of research into his grandmother’s (Aletta Catharina) family using public records in the Cape Town library many years ago. Aletta Catharina ended up in Southern Rhodesia (now Zim) with my great grandfather (John Charles Munch) where she died in 1942.
